First Time Visit

A leisurely stroll along all of our trails and paths is recommended for first-time visitors. This two-hour walk showcases the interweaving of formal gardens and natural woodlands for which the Reserve has won international acclaim. We provide a Self-Guided Tour Booklet (PDF) , which describes the major Garden Features, a brief history of the development of the gardens, and exceptional plants in the landscape.

Repeat Visits

Visitors with less time to spend, or those familiar with the Reserve, may wish to see specific Garden Features.

Guests with special needs

Our Guest Relations staff can describe a route through the garden to best accommodate all visitors’ interests, physical abilities, and time available. Wheelchairs are available for visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.

For visitors coming to Bainbridge Island without a car, Kitsap Tours provides a pick up at the ferry terminal, a scenic drive, and a tour of Bloedel Reserve.
