LOCATIONClick here to download the directions in a printer friendly PDF file. The Bloedel Reserve is located at the north end of Bainbridge Island, Kitsap County, in Washington State. For driving directions, please use the map below and then select one of the four sections that contains your general starting point. You will then receive driving directions to the Reserve for that area. Note the links to the Washington State Ferry system for accessing information about their schedules and fees. AREA ONEFrom North-East side Puget Sound (Shoreline, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Lynnwood, Everett and points north): Proceed on Interstate 5 towards the Snohomish/King County boundary. Watch for the Edmonds Exit and directional signs for the Edmonds/Kingston ferry. Follow the signs (Highway 104) that lead towards Edmonds and to the ferry terminal area. (Click here to link to the WA State Ferry System for information about their schedules and fees.) Upon arrival in Kingston, you will disembark the ferry and exit the terminal area via Highway 104. Proceed on Highway 104 west until it becomes Highway 307. Follow Highway 307 to Highway 305. Turn left onto Highway 305 (marked for Bainbridge Island) and follow it through Poulsbo, past Suquamish (marked by the Clearwater Casino & Convention Center on the right), and over the Agate Pass Bridge to Bainbridge Island. About ½ mile, on the right, will be a sign for “BLOEDEL RESERVE NEXT LEFT.” Use the left turn lane provided and proceed onto Agatewood Road NE. Agatewood Road will turn right (¼ mile) and become Dolphin Drive. Follow Dolphin Drive to its east end (½ mile) where you will see the white walls and Gate House of the Bloedel Reserve. AREA TWOFrom Central East-side Puget Sound (Seattle, Bellevue, Burien, Renton, etc.): Use the Washington State Bainbridge Island/Seattle ferry to Bainbridge Island that departs from Pier 52 at the foot of Marion Street. (Click here to link to the WA State Ferry System for information about their schedules and fees.) Drivers disembarking the ferry at Bainbridge Island will be at the south end of Highway 305. Proceed away from the ferry and Winslow following Highway 305 northwards across the island. Approximately 6.5 miles away from the ferry terminal, there will be a highway sign on the right stating “BLOEDEL RESERVE NEXT RIGHT.” Turn right on Agatewood Road, as the sign directs, and follow that road approximately ¼ mile at which point it becomes Dolphin Drive. Follow Dolphin Drive to its east end (½ mile) where you will see the white walls and Gate House of the Bloedel Reserve. Ferry walk-on passengers will find taxi service to the Reserve available at the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal (cost approximately $20 each way). Or Dial-A-Ride, a door-to-door bus service is available Mondays through Fridays, 10:00am to 3:00pm, for $1.50 each way from Kitsap Transit. Arrangements for the service must be made no less than 24 hours in advance by calling 1-800-422-2877. Those calling from outside Washington should call 1-800-501-7433 and then ask to be transferred to the Bainbridge Island Dial-A-Ride. AREA THREEFrom South Puget Sound (Tacoma, Federal Way, Lakewood, Auburn, etc.): Use Interstate 5 to the junction of Highway 16 (Gig Harbor and Bremerton exit). Proceed north on Highway 16, over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, past Gig Harbor and Port Orchard where Highway 16 ends and becomes Highway 3. Follow the signs that direct you north (on Highway 3) towards Bremerton and on towards Poulsbo or the Hood Canal Bridge. Near the end of the divided freeway (Highway 3) you will see an exit labeled “BAINBRIDGE ISLAND.” That exit is the north end of Highway 305. Take that exit and proceed south on Highway 305, through Poulsbo, past Suquamish (marked by the Clearwater Casino and Convention Center on the right), and over the Agate Pass Bridge to Bainbridge Island. Within ½ mile, on the right, is a sign stating “BLOEDEL RESERVE NEXT LEFT.” Use the left turn lane provided and proceed onto Agatewood Road NE. Agatewood Road will turn right (¼ mile) and become Dolphin Drive. Follow Dolphin Drive to its east end (½ mile) where you will see the white walls and Gate House of the Bloedel Reserve. AREA FOURFrom North West-side Puget Sound (Port Angeles, Port Gamble, Port Ludlow, Port Townsend, Sequim, etc.): Drive south on Highway 101 or Highway 20 to Highway 104, which leads to the Hood Canal floating bridge. Cross the floating bridge and turn right onto Highway 3. Follow Highway 3 until it divides into a limited access highway. Take the Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island exit to Highway 305. Proceed south on Highway 305, through Poulsbo, past Suquamish (marked by the Clearwater Casino and Convention Center on the right), and over the Agate Pass Bridge to Bainbridge Island. About ½ mile, on the right, will be a sign stating “BLOEDEL RESERVE NEXT LEFT.” Use the left turn lane provided and proceed onto Agatewood Road NE.
